VARIATIONS IN COURSE OF SCIATIC NERVE IN ADULT HUMAN CADAVERS

Most of the sciatic nerve course in individuals is normal and variations seen approximately sixteen to twenty five percent cases. Often sciatica misdiagnosed. Pseudo-sciatica occurs as a result non-spinal etiological factors. Understanding origin needed correctly diagnose sciatica. The present study undertaken determine nerve, along with its variations. Material And Methods: following was conducted on variation found during routine dissection 100 cadavers for teaching purpose, Department Anatomy, Govt. Medical College, Kurnool other medical colleges Kurnool. There were no gross anomalies or pathologies. skin around area evidence surgery present. gluteal region dissected Gluteus maximus muscle reflected exposing Piriformis muscle. Result: incidence very low noted firstly right side cadaver. occurrence 16 cadavers. Eighty four showed nerve. Out cadavers, ten related type b ranging 62.5% total seen. Four c 25 % Two e 12.5%. Conclusion: Sciatic thickest, largest longest body. Its pathologies are also frequent daily life. A thorough knowledge anatomy required give proper treatment plan patient. Also the, significance it should not be overlooked surgical popliteal block anaesthetic procedures.
